Tearing

Hi,

I've got a Dell 2407WFP and a NVidia GeForce FX 5500 AGP 8X with 256MB RAM.

Whenever I try to play movies - etc. DivXs or Xvids I get a diagonal tearing whenever there is high speed movement in the film. It only seems to happen when the player - VLC / WMP is in full screen mode.

I also use it for my Xbox360 via the VGA port and PS3 via the DVI input and don't experience the same problems.

Any ideas ?

Graphics card underpowered ?
Drivers Need updating?
Monitor faulty?

I've had this happen a few times, usually sorted by a driver update or even re-installing the same ones again, there is no doubt a better technical solution but I'd give the driver update a shot if I were you
