Well I was up this morning reading my focus magazine, and noticed a review for a usb cooler, like the usb cup warmer but these cool

Any how on the review was a laptop with a website on it, the first thing that caught my eye on the tiny image was what appeared to be a cpu cooler.

Got a magnify glass read the url and low and behold i found this little gem,

:D

Looks like an interesting cooling solution.

I like the mounting idea on a fan mount very clean and easy to install.

Tried finding a rough price but could find it one sorry :(

Excellent website as well even includes a video tutorial on how to install the cooler, very impressed.

JUst found out the company that makes these is also planning a water cooled xbox 360 cooler.

Found a price $400 roughly for the pc cooler

They're likely to not be great for the one reasonthat people who want tecs want sub ambient temperatures.

Anything like this is not going to sell anything good enough since sub ambient likely means condensation. This means insulation is needed along with extra knowledge.

Anyone selling something which has a good chance of damaging things if it goes wrong is not likely gonna make a basic all in one unit like this for safety reasons.

Plus since it incorporates a chiller effect using pelts its gonna need at least around 4 80w pelts minimum this is gonna use a lot of power. It is also more risky than traditional pelt usage since it cools all the liquid not just the block so instead of just insulating the block tubes would also need to be insulated if it were any good.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how are they getting rid of the heat from the hot side of the TECs?

Just looks like some TECs strapped to a radiator to me.

Their doing it with a single 92mm fan which is obviously gonna cool them all down well ;)

Edit also bear in mind that as you clock the cpu up the cooling potential of the whole thing gets worse so thats another down side of using tecs at all
