Tech Deals isn't reccomending B650s for high end builds!

Tech Deals has said in the video, buying a X670 (without the E!) over B650 is better. What do you guys think . . . he's going against the grain here?

Skipping through and reading the subtitles, it's something along the lines of B650 isn't much cheaper than X670 ($150 vs $200) so you should go for X670 because it's less compromised (e.g. VRMs) and normally have more "nice" features e.g. tool less M2 etc.

crock of shizzle though, really.

case in point, the cheapest x670 at ocuk is £250 (X670-p) which has 12+2 60A, the b650e-f has 12+2 80A and comes in cheaper
the b650e-f has pcie 5 to the gpu and ssd, whereas the x670-p only has it to the ssd and not gpu

if we compare it to something even cheaper eg the asrock b650 pro-rs, that also has 14+2 60A vrms (better than the x670-p), and the same pcie 5 to the ssd
it's only when one gets down to the bottom of the barrel £100-130 b650 boards when the spec difference start to show up...but then why are you comparing parts where the cost difference is +100%??

wierd. yeah, but no. steaming pile of bs. would ignore.
 
Tool less M2 slots isnt an X670 only feature... Infavt there are some X670 boards which are inferior to some B650 boards depending on your point of view.

Anyway, without watching the video its probably nonsense. The only real MATERIAL difference from a performance POV on current AM5 chips is having an external clock for OCing. You dont even need to get an X670 board for that either.

Probably being sponsored to shift X670 boards.
 
X670 can make sense if you need more pcie/usb for some reason, but I'd usually suggest B650E instead to get PCI-E 5.0 graphics and it has enough M.2/PCI-E/USB for almost everyone.
 
The problem with the above video is that unless I'm missing something, X670 and B650E boards are lacking in mATX format. If you want ATX or even eATX or ITX you're covered.

Those like me who require mATX are left with B650 and A620. I for one am happy with my Asrock B650M paired with a Ryzen 9 7900.
