Heres mine:

1) PSP - thought I would use it on the train, I never did and always ended up using my iPod instead

2) Palm m130 - Thought it was great at first then realised there were no decent programs for it and a paper diary was better.

3) AMD XP 2800+ - paid £100 extra over a 2500+ which I later found out I could overclock to 2800+ speeds anyway, also 1 week after I bought it the price went down by £100.

4) Record decks - thought I would be the next Pete Tong, but the records cost too much and it took up all my deskspace.

Now your turn!

I don't regret it as such but I'd say my current rig which I bought in May.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ @ 2.6GHz
2GB [2 x 1GB] OCZ PC3200 Platinum
DFI LanParty UT Ultra-D
HIS ATi RADEON X1900XT

Cost nearly 1.5K inc every other component.

Now, I am very very happy with my rig but it is a little annoying that if I had waited another 2 or 3 months I could have had a **** hot conroe rig with the same money!

i dont regret buyin any tech stuff, for the reason i have to save up an it normally takes a while so gives me time to think wther it will be useful or not :D

I bought my 6800GT at £320 when it was released, haven't actually put it to much use, especially early on.

My mac-mini. Bought it when it was released and have done nothing with it. Need to sell it to fund my macbook purchase. :p

Don't know if this would be classed as a tech purchase, but I bought one of those shock gun games (think laser quest but with stun guns :D). They ended up being unused because everyone was too weedy to actually play after receiving the first shock!

My worst mistake was replacing my A64 2800 (754) and 9800pro with an A64 3000 (939) and a 6600gt. The CAS 2 low latency RAM I bought was also not worth the performance increase vs the price.

We live and learn. I spent hundreds there and got maybe a 10% performance increase in total. The same amount spent on a graphics card alone would have been a much better buy.

I Regret my whole system, I did not need it.

Spent 1000£ on the stupid thing when everything first came out.
