Technet Plus questions

The company I work for are gold partners and have Technet Volume licencing access which is nifty as I can download software, generate new keys and install away on different machines for testing network installs, revision, etc. All very useful!

Tempted by the Technet Plus for personal use with the impending Windows 7 release as I'm continually re-installing different stuff as I'm doing the MCPs, etc. Can anyone confirm if the technet plus subscription can generate more than one serial as I have more than one machine! Yes, I could generate them on the company's technet but I'd prefer my own. I run about 8 server VMs at home, have a desktop and 2 laptops! Ahh the world of IT.

I've read that you can generate up to 10 but is this correct? Does that include Vista Ultimate (not that I want Visa, but Windows 7 would be useful).

Ive read you get 10 licenses per Application/OS... so I would imagine whatever you get you can install upto 10 times...

It covers practically all OS.. and will include things like Win7, Windows Home Server..

Im looking for a discount code, there are some kicking about for 20% but cant find one that works...

I have a retail TechNet Plus subscription. Yes, you can generate up to 10 product keys for most products, but some products (like SQL server) have pre-programmed keys.

Also, if you need more than 10 keys, give the TechNet subscription line a call and they will give you extra ones.

Thanks for the info guys. Balls though!!! There was a 20% code the other day but it doesnt work anymore! Typical! Work had agreed to sub the price as well

What happens to these keys if you don't renew your subscription at the end of the first year? Do they get 'blacklisted'?

No they don't. They still continue to work fine.

It should be noted that it is a subscription service and you probably shouldn't be using them afterwards.

on the site is says that your fine to use/reinstall any of the software after the year, you just cant get updates/ new keys.
