Hey guys ive got this Hi-Fi system the Technics SCEH790 was a present from the fiancee, now i already had 1 RCA to 3.5mm lead, so at the moment its connected to my PC in that way, but as you can gather i can only got stereo sound not surround, my soundcard is the X-fi Extreme music variant, and would like to get this Hi-Fi into a full surround system....if anyone has any ideas on what i could do to get this to work, it would be much appreciated.

Some Sites i look at the specs say its got a Digital Out socket somehwhere but ill be damned if i can find it.

Edit....its the 5CD Changer version not the CD/DVD changer version.

Hi, i used to have the same stereo. I used 3 stereo to phono (RCA) leads.

for surround sound...One for the centre, once for the rears, and one for the fron t stereo speakers, then just plug the corresponding rca's into the back of the stereo. :)

On the hifi itself i remember i had all the dolby modes off. just used to use the surround mode with "Music" mode springs to mind.

Hope you get it sorted.

hey joe, can you remember if you plugged the subwoofer in with the centre, as im not sure that will work, as the hi-fi doesnt have a subwoofer as such..

ok perfect Joe, another question which there is no piont in making a new thread for but i will if you dont know the answer buddy.....is the Flat Cable (IDE type things) is there some sort of extensions for them so i can get some space between the units, as using this almost round the clock everything is getting a tad too warm for my liking.
