anyone got one off these?
I'm looking for something that's easy, compact and cleans easily to make shredded stuff for coleslaw and other salads, the cubes and other stuff is just a bonus. £60 on amazon prime.

Or any other gadgets that might be suitable?

Looks like an electric mandolin

Ifs its built ok then I might get one of these too as my mandoline is a pain to use and clean

I'm just scared of mandolins, sliced the flap of skin off my finger and it's never healed properly, scar actually opens up every now and then.
And despite going through several never found one I've actually got on with.

why do they always cut away just before the last slice/end of the thing being sliced.

im guessing cause it fails missiribly at that point?

Glaucus! I thought you were a fan of Good Eats! Alton would never approve of such a unitasker.

In terms of mandolin - have a look at this one. I keep recognising it in cooking shows when they head into michelin kitchens and stuff.

I wouldn't use one without buying gloves now.
Alton would be proud, he likes gadgets.

Of course it will fail at that point. But all gadgets do. Mandolins or food processors never get it all down.

Spiralisers are the worst, they waste so much it's unbelievable, not only a large part at the end, the entire middle section down the entire veg as well. Cheaper to buy pre cut spiral veg them from Tesco.
