Tegra X1 (Maxwell for mobile devices / car)

Really impressed with Tegra X1, would love to see this in a mini PC for desktop use.

I don't see what's so impressive about it at 10watt its going be the worst performance per watt mobile chip of next gen. Chances of seeing it in a min PC or desktop are pretty much nill. Why would you even want it in a device like that?

You're not impressed by a 10w GPU that effectively offers the same raw ALU performance as a 9800GTX+?

Look at the ALU performance of the current gen GPU GXA6850 which is out now and the next gen GT7900 GPU which the X1 will be up against. Then you will see why I am not impressed. The GT7900 is under 5 watt and beats the X1 in ALU performance.

The ALU performance of the X1 is not that good compared to other chips. The only reason the benchmarks NVidia showed look good is because X1 is using x3 more watt and much higher Mhz rating that what's realistic in mobile chips. Clock the other mobile chips to 10watt and high Mhz rating and then the X1 looks unimpressive. Most mobile chips are sub 5 watt.

The X1 looks to be the worst/lowest performance per watt chip out of the next gen high end mobile chips. Put all the high end next gen chips at 10watt and I bet X1 would come bottom of the pack or pretty low.
