Hi All,

I never normally post in this topic but just thought I would ask if there are any TV's exist that have a Steam App that will essentially run Steam Big Picture and allow for streaming directly into the television thus eliminating the need for the upcoming Steam Link or a media PC.

Surely with some of the Quad TV's this could be possible?

Thanks for the information guys.

I just feel like it is something that could quite easily be done and it strikes me as surprising that it isn't already in place.

Steam have just launched the Steam Link - a little add on box for your TV that will stream 1080p 60FPS. Might be worth a look.

Yeah I made reference to this in my OP.

Compared to the likes of Netflix etc it'd be such a niche thing, and it'd end up obsolete when the TV manufacturer gives up on updating it. A dedicated Steam Link is better.

I am not convinced it is niche, with the millions of Steam users around the world a lot of these would take full advantage of it.

With regard to the update of the application if I am honest I thought that would lie with the Valve instead of the TV manufacturer but I take your point that this could be a bit more difficult if this isn't the case.

but what about the controller,
the controller range is about the same distance as you can get an hdmi cable so just use an hdmi cable

Couldn't the controller be plugged into a USB slot on the TV?
