Can someone explain how i live on a normal streeet with houses down each side, now every house on my street can get telewest BB but I cant...WTF!!! my number is the only one on the street that cant get it! some stupid twit on the phone just says "thats what my records show" hows that a reason, man am so hacked off now! I live in a row of new houses that are only a year old all the other new houses can get it but not me, there is nothing special about my house.

HA! after calling their support team again, I got someone a bit more cometant who listened to me and ive now left a message and a coonsultant should be getting back to me within 10 days, the girl on the other end seems to think its wierd too! :D so I should be 10 Megged up soon!!! :p

Sorry to break it to you but you are getting your hopes up possibly for nothing.

Honest answer: It's not weird, odd or in any way abnormal, your house is a new build on an exisitng street, depending on the local council and it's policy's it may never get cable. It'll require construction and that will cost money, unless it's a short/easy add on then a Spotter (rep with basic planning/construction approval) is unlikley to do anything with it....Was that the recorded message that you got before you left your message ? Just if you ring it again and listen it will tell you that if you don't hear anything within 10 days you can't have it...

yeah I know. but i just cant understand how my house is affected and not any of the other new builds, as far as i can tell it would be harder to get cable to the house next door to me!! also they (Telewest) keep putting flyers though my door....its torture! :D

They just mail the street sadly. If you don't mind me asking I take it you are a new customer and not an existing one ? Either way I can tell you how to get a definative answer one way or another in if you want ?

I am a new customer (or will be..hopefully) but the thing is next door to me have it so surely I must be able to, how do you find out for definite?

might find your property may be offsale (previous tenants might have bumped a good few quid )

house is only a year old and bought from new so im pretty sure its to do with whatever was at my number before, they knocked down some 3 story flat buildings to build these houses, so im guessing my number was too high up to get telewest but they just havent updated their records.

If it's TW the old flat's will be marked as Duplicate/Demolished and your property not listed. Also sormicoft i'm guessing you're NTL as Offsale isn't a TW description, FYI the process that's been followed is the one for Planning/Construction/Property not on Database, it's nothing to do with the former occupant(s).
