I've recently put a Scythe Ninja in my system, using the clips from an XP90c to hold the heatsink onto the cpu.

Idle temps seem to high. (43/44) They might not be, but do worry me.

CPU is clocked at 2.5 at stock volts by the way.

Any way, down to the point. I cant get the ninja off!!! I want to re-apply the thermal past but cant get the bugger off!

by the looks of it i'm gonna have to take the mobo out and unscrew the fixings!

dont do this....cpu heatsinks/fans can get awkwark to remove....my best gues is that the weight of the ninja is causing the problem tilting it slightly, make sure when you try to do this that the case is on its side so that the nija it sitting up vertical.
removing mobo is last resort

Try powering up the system for a few minutes to heat up the thermal paste. Then power down and quickly try removing the heatsink.
Has worked for me in the past.

Those temps are fine if its an amd 64 chip.

I wouldnt remove it,

Mine barely goes above 45C under full load clocked at 2750MHz with 1.475V. And hes got a Ninja which should be cooling better than my SI-120.

Might be worth taking the motherboard out if its stuck fast... don't want to risk bending any pins.

the cpu is a dual core x2 3800..

its not that the heat sink it stuck to the cpu. The clips that fit onto the adapter you get with the heaksink are so tightly fit they wont come out!

The HS was a bugger to get on, i dont realy wannt snap anything trying to get it off again!!

I know this sounds harsh, and it will feel harsh. But try this-

Push the clips down, hard, and then just pull the tab of the clip out.

I know, I skipped a heartbeat when I put mine on too.
