Tell me something i don't know...

The distance measured from middle finger tip to middle finger tip of your other hand with your arms outstretched is the same as your height

Depleted Uranium (DU) is used in weaponry due to its high density and therefore armour-piercing properties. It is only mildly radioactive, but there is much debate over the long term health effects, particularly in areas of urban combat where DU is used. During a three week period of conflict in 2003 in Iraq, 1,000 to 2,000 tonnes of DU munitions were used, mostly in cities.

DU is also used in aircraft as a counterweight (e.g. 747-100 may contain up to 1500KG of DU). It is cadmium coated for protection, and when a plane crashes such weights must be inspected for damage, and in fire uranium dioxide can be generated and spread over a wide area, and it is potentially harmful if inhaled or ingested, mainly because it is toxic (moreso than arsenic), not just because it's radioactive as the half life is typically very large (4.468 billion years for Uranium 238, the primary constituent).

Jeep stands for Just Enough Essential Parts.

Taken from military usage that meant the vehicles had to have Just Enough Essential Parts to work, and therefore be easy to fix if they broke in a war situation.

this may not be true.

You are incorrect sir. The Jeep as we know it was originally simply known as the "general purpose military vehicle", GP for short - Became Jeep through american slur and the fog of war.

Leon Czolgosz, assassin of William McKinley, the 25th President of the United States, was electrocuted for his crime on October 29, 1901, at Auburn Prison in Auburn, New York. Among the personal effects found in his cell was a U.S. quarter stamped with the date 2218. The face in profile on said quarter was not George Washington, but rather a face which has yet to be identified.

que?

Great white sharks are infact warm blooded unlike most fish and also have one of the most compact intestinal tracks with largest surface area to absord nutrients in ratio to its size compared to any other living creature.

Pluto has at least 3 moons. The largest of these moons, Charon, doesn't just orbit Pluto, but rather Charon and Pluto orbit/revolve around each other.

The New Horizons probe will reach Pluto in 2015.

The Rolls Royce Merlin (mostly known as the engine that powered the Spitfire) made at most in the region of 2,060BHP.

The Rolls Royce Crecy, a developmental engine that was being designed during the operational period of the Merlin, was to take the place of the same engine in some instances - and it showed the almighty potential for 5,000BHP - and at the time was the most advanced and powerful 2 stroke engine, with 12 cylinders, 26 litres, direct injection, sleeve valves, variable supercharging, power recovery devices and more.

All 6 prototypes of the Crecy are missing, so start scouring those abandonded little sheds....

The term 'Calamari' (fried squid) comes from the Latin calamarium, meaning 'ink pot'.

The scene in American Beauty where Kevin Spacey throws the plate at the wall was unscripted. The look of shock on the two actresses faces was genuine.

Statistically, President of the United States of America is the most dangerous job in the world. You* currently have a 1 in 11 chance of being assassinated.

Edit: *you, the US president. Not you, the forum member.

It is commonly understood that Paul Revere said "The british are coming, the british are coming."

However, Revere never said "The British are coming," this would have made no sense at the time since they considered themselves British.

Revere instead said, "The Regulars are coming out! The Regulars are coming out!" But, that doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
