Hi can you look at this and tell me what you think. have I missed anything or is something not compatible, also I've not included A cooler so any suggestions would be great.

This is purely for gaming I'll keep my current machine for everything else.
Thanks.

Very nice! Alright for some i say :)

You could save a little on that processor. Go for the 4400+ and Oc to a 4800+

The WD SATAII are supposed to be superb.

as for cooler, have a look at the Artic Freezer 64 pro, good value, good cooling although others might sugest more expensive HSF. But it depends on the level of OC'ing you intend doing. If your not, then the stock HSF is fine.

Off topic.. you are from the same place as Muban.. do you know her? /offtopic

All should be pretty good as you have selected top end parts or near enough, the X1900XT Crossfire edition means you can add a second card if you choose.

I'd consider getting a DVDRW drive even if you already have one basically because they are so cheap.

Not very keen on overclocking these days, had a few nasty experiences in the past, but I know I could save here and there. Thanks for the advice on the cooler and a DVDRW would probably make sence.

Dont know a Muban.. is she a poster on these forums??

Oc'ing used to be rocket science but the A64s have certainly made things easier and most motherbaords have excellant features to makes things much more easier than what they once were. Increasing the FSB (or Hyper thread as it's known now) is particulary usefull for getting the most out of your CPU without the pain. In fact, some motherboards even included auto OC features but if you don't intend on doing any Oc'ing the stock fan is ideal.

I still think the 4800+ is lot of cash just for the extra 200mhz over the 4400+, which is the only difference.

good point about the DVD writer :)

yes she is btw :)
