Forgive the noob, I've been out of the overclocking game for so long :p

Anyway, runnin g a 4400, Brisbane on an Asus M2NPV-VM with stock cooling.
Not the newest, I know, but it does me fine ;)
All at defaults.

Got a random BSOD the other night (Something about system files modified, which I've never ever seen before). Rebooted, just as it was getting into windows, BSOD again with a driver...not less than equal etc.

Rebooted into the BIOS, quick check of the temps (it was Weds night and it was hot), and CPU temp said 70 odd degrees (and dropping).

Flipped the case off, let it cool down and fired her up, been fine since.

So I've been monitoring the temps since, using Everest, Speedfan, and CoreTemp.

Here's a screenie

CPU is at 44ish, which can easily flick up to late 50's when exporting an image out of Lightroom.
Cores are much lower though? Is it the core speeds I should be worried about rather than CPU?
I looked up the OPN for this chip and I think the top temp was 72 or something.

Sorry for the ramblings, like I say, I've been out of this tweaking game for so long :$

Thoughts?

By the way, this is still with the case off. Built this system mid last year, and never had any issues (never really thought about it TBH).

Gave the guts a good scrub and de-dusting, and temps are lower now with the case back on.
Acceptable to see @ this time of year?

I suppose going out and buying some Arctic Silver and reseating the CPU are an option, just wondering if it's really necessary.
