Temp folders?

Evening folks,

I'm currently getting spammed about the lack of disk space on my 15 gig C: drive. I use this drive mainly just for the OS and my other 150 gig D: drive for all other programmes/games/music etc.

Apart from minor programmes such as msn messenger there isnt anything else on the C: drive, so why all 15 gig have been taken up is baffling me.

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as to what could be eating all this space, I've ran the clean up wizard and deleted temp folders using ccleaner.

Thanks for the advice :)

Take all the stuff you need and cant live with out off it and put on your other hdd and format it. always best thing ive found to do. possibly something using up all your resources virus adware or something?

because some of it will be your own junk
some of it will be pagefile
and a whole load will probably be system restore points
just disable system restore so it deletes all the old restore points then enable it again if you wish

Or just goto disk cleanup/more options and select cleanup system restore and shadow copies. That will remove all but the last sys restore point

what os?

if it's vista, that takes up tons in windows\winsxs (and there's nothing you can do about it)

it's to keep program compatibility after windows updates take place

good things to do to save space..
disable system restore
disable hibernation
run disk cleanup
run ccleaner slim
