Hi,

Hope you can shed some light on something for me as I'm not sure if there's a problem or not.

Heres my current system specs:

Abit P35 pro
Q6600 running at 2.4
Akasa AK-975CU CPU Cooler
Corsair 2GB DDR2 Value Select PC2-5300C5
Jetway 8800 GT 512
Oryxx Titan 800w PSU
Thermaltake VA3000BNA Tsunami Dream case
Seagate 160gb hard drive
Vista Home Premium 64
All stock voltages

I recently bought the P35 pro to replace a Abit Fp-1n9 as I couldn't push the q6600 above 2.9ghz without the system rebooting regardless of what the voltages were set to. After posting on this forum at the time, the consensus seemed to be that the Fp-1n9 might not be able to handle going any higher due to chipset limitations and that a P35 based board would be a better choice. I got on really well with the abit board so opted for another one, the P35 pro which I now have in my system.

Strangely enough the swap went really smoothly and Vista didn't have many issues with changing the board over. Had to install new drivers and reactivate but other than that no real issues.

The thing is, even when it had the q6600 running at 2.9 under full load on the FP-1n9, the temp never rose above 55c and idled quite happily at about 33ish.

Now, with the P35 pro at stock speeds, the CPU temp is 55c idle and rises to about 65c under full load. ( I've tried to paste a picture of uGuru and Everest showing the temps but I can't quite suss how to do it!!)

I thought it might just be the software measuring it wrong but the bios shows 55c idle as well. I've removed the cooler, cleaned the old TIM off and reapplied new stuff and put it back together but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

It's not a problem running at stock as 65c should be ok it think but I bought the P35 pro to have a real go at overclocking and I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do.

I wondered if anyone else had experienced this at all or has ideas as to what the problem might be if there is a problem at all.

Thanks in advance
