temp monitoring and artifacts

right how would i go about monitoring the temps on a his x1950pro 256mb Gddr3 agp graphics card when it arrives next week

also what are artifacts i keep reading on the site??????

For temp monitoring, try:
Everest home edition, or ATI tool (also works for Nvidia now).

Quote: Artifacts could be anything from white dots all over the screen to objects in the background occluding through the foreground. It may even be weird halos around your objects or parts of the frame buffer not clearing making moving objects leave a trail.

Can be caused by faulty graphics card, or heat related, or even driver issues.

Use tray tools to test for artifacts when you get the card, they may not show till it heats up a bit
