Temp Problem

I have been having some problems with fps issues ingame and this morning i installed some temp monitoring software and ran garrysmod and got some very interesting results. I am guessing i shouldn't be at 99oc+ on each core?

I know this is very very bad but do you think any damage will have been done to the cpu itself?

Have you found the cause of the issue and resolved it, or are things still cooking away at 100 degrees?

I have added some new fans to the case and lowered the temps to around 68 idle and 80 playing garrysmod but these still seem really high! What else could be causing this?

Isnt core 0 -26 perhaps a dodgy sensor

Those readings don't seem right, PC would have shutdown because high temp. Is the mobo BIOS up-to-date?

Just been and bought some new thermal paste and cpu fan to replace the stock one. Its brought the temps down but not by a huge amount the temps are still not low.

These temps were on idle

You could try reseating your HSF, but temps that high should really have shut down your comp surely...Maybe its jus a faulty reading. Try monitoring the temp with a few different programs and see if they all say the same thing.

Also, On this the screenshot above Under temperatures it says my cpu is at 48oc yet below its saying there all 60+.

The one that just says CPU is actually the northbridge temperature i believe, which is about average.

Also, how much paste did you apply? You really only need a small blob to cover the entire CPU. The more you put on the worse it can be. (http://benchmarkreviews.com/images/reviews/cooling/Best_CPU_Coolers_Q1-2008/TIM_Before_Spread.jpg)

Yea thats how much i put on, I kinda slipped up aswell. I took the cpu fan off to check it was seated correctly and realised i had not taken the plastic off the bottom to protect it! lol Temps at back down at 31oc.
