Temp problems?

Just been messing about...wound my 4200 up to 220 fsb and ran OCCT

After a short while, Abit EQ told me temp was 134, speedfan said -122? OCCT temp graph implied temps had stayed at arround 47 and then dropped ( the drop could have been when I stopped it ...not sure)

But no beeps... no shutdown! (and no horrid worrying smells!) so it leads me to believe there is a reading problem rather than it was getting to this temp!

Anybody come across this before? or any ideas?

Just had a closer look at the OCCT graphs, and it sais the 12v briefly dropped to 0! but no corresponding drop in any other voltage reading such as vcore! curioser & curiouser!

just tried OCCT again & same result with the temps, but no corresponding drop on 12v this time! EQ did flash up a vcore warning but no ripple or movement on the OCCT graph!

OK just tried it again, after downloading "core temp". EQ & speedfan both "hiccuped" again giving the same readings as before, but "core temp" continued giving 47/50 after the other two "went wrong" I would have thought if these ridiculously high tenmpr were right the m/c would have shut down, and OCCT would have failed?

any ideas anyone?

Speedfan needs to have the correct configuration file loaded.
I have yet to see a decent motherboard monitor by any manufacturer except DFI.

Trust and use Coretemp.

Thats kind of where I was getting to, if the o'clock was unstable,OCCT would have failed, but it concentrates the mind somewhat (as well as the "lower pucker reflex" :D ) when something tells you your cpu has just reached 134 degrees!

ps thanks for the reply!

Well it'll be why machines are referred to as she". Decided to "risk it" and accept that core temp was right, wound the o'clock up a bit more to 2530 ( 230 x 11 ) and it sailed through, no errors on speedfan, EQ or core temp!

Yea coretemp is the most accurate one i've been told
