Just took the car in to have a couple of things checked. The temp gauge is not working and the steering wheel sounds like its rubbing on plastic.

So I just get a call back from the garage:

They say that I need new temp sensors and it will cost £88!
They also say that the steering wheel rubbing sound is from the "clock spring [and] contacts" and that will cost £71 to get fixed!

Can someone explain to me if these are the sorts of prices I shouild be expecting to pay for a '97 ford fiesta? Sounds bit steep to me [the prices include labour].

taken it to a second place for a quote - no doubt that they will be cheapr and the bloke can tell me exactly whats wrong with it an how to fix myself if need be.
