I was gonna upgrade my system but i thought that i should wait because i should save my money to get presents. So i am thinking about gettin a cheap card to replace my agp 6600gt

would a BFG GEFORCE 7300 GS OC 512MB be better than my 6600gt?

Or can you recommend any other cheap PCI-express or AGP card that would outperform my 6600GT AGP for around £50-70

Do you have one of those motherboards that can take AGP or PCI-E??

In which case, PCI-E it is (much cheaper at the moment). A 7300 GT GDDR3 (last bit is important) would give you a boost, but the 7600 GT is the sweet spot in the mid range bracket.

No i havnt but i have a pci express board on the way. But i am running a Geforce 2 Ti at the moment because my 6600GT screwed up. so i cant play any games. So would the 7300 GT GDDR3 def give me a boost and last me till around march-april?

At stock you would get a slight boost with the faster RAM, but the real fun starts with overclocking and volt modding:-

My friend's 3d mark results of his volt-modded 7300 GT DDR3 that he got for £60 or so:-

6600 Marks in 05
Over 15000 Marks in 03

If you can stretch to a 7600GT then I would STRONGLY reccomend it. I've just bought one to replace my 7800GTX and am very impressed with performance.

If it's just a temporary card then I'd still reccomend it as it is just such a cracking card for the price.
