Temperature Advice - Safe Readings?

Ello,

I just got me kit set up yesterday and have been tinkering with it.

I have the Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H, i7 3770k and 16GB memory.

The CPU is cooled by an Arctic Freezer i30.

I have overclocked the CPU from 3.5 to 4.2ghz.

The idle temperatures on the cores are averaging as follows:
32,34,38,32

Under full load (encoding video using Handbrake)
70, 70, 73,68

Now I won't claim to know much about CPU's, but I am sure that these temperatures are well within its operating limits and shouldn't decrease the lifespan of the CPU?

It is also odd to note that some of the cores seem to generate more head than others. I read the 3770k's TIM under the heatspreader is **** - hence the odd temperatures?

So what do you guys think, safe to run it with them load temps?

Thanks

Temps look ok, the CPU will throttle if the temps get to high.

Majority of cpu's get temperature variance accross the cores, I don't think I have had one CPU multicore CPU which has had even temps.

Those temps are okay, but I wouldn't go any higher if you plan to do encoding. 70c is nice and safe for long runs. Depending on what you encode the run time could be an hour or more. Do an extended run to be sure your case is cooling properly and CPU temps stay around 70c ;)

To be honest I will not be doing too much CPU intensive stuff. Maybe some photoshop stuff but hardly going to break a sweat on this computer.

I was just messing around with the vcore, trying to lower it. Was too much hassle - would rather just have the extra few oC and know its stable :)
