Temperature guage

Temperature gauge problems ?

Bought the wife an 06 focus cmax 2l petrol auto,

However the temperature gauge seems to be swinging around a bit.

drops off to a 1\4 when on the speed gets up and starts to warm up again when slow driving around 30 mph streets and goes up to half way when stationary .

The fan comes on when it gets to the middle and comes on when you use the aircon .

Thanks all been quoted £130 for a new thermostat fitted

i am tempted to have a go myself anyone fitted on of these before ?

I've got the same engine but in a Focus and did this recently.

It's not the easiest thing to get to though and you'll probably lose a decent amount of skin!

I think i am going to have ago at doing this myself .

Can i ask how long it took you ?
