Hello,

In the past I got bad experiences with laptops overheating, both of my last two Acer laptops had that issue. The first one because it was badly design and it had a dodgy heatsink. The second one because the fan stopped working properly after a year, impossible to clean unless I opened completely (remove the keyboard, etc).

The OcUK Gamer W350STQ interest me and fits my budget.
Does anyone has experiences with this laptop? How does it handle heavy load?

Someone quoted me that the CPU and GPU at 100, the temperature would be at 97 degrees! That is very high if is true.

Thank you in advance.

I have the larger brother, the 17" version of this laptop.

Temps were fine when I first ordered it, GPU temps would reach 80 degrees and the CPU would hit about the same.

I replaced the thermal compound with Liquid Pro Metal and the temps dropped quite a bit. CPU now hits about 60 max while gaming (that's with all 4 cores running at 3.4GHz) and the GPU averages around 70 with an decent overclock added (950 core and 1500 memory)

Before I did all the above I had no issues with the higher temps, the system coped just fine

Hmmm isn't true what I think Gibbo or other person from OCuk said that the notebooks have their thermal paste changed for the better quality one?
If better mean that you have to buy Liquid metal pro anyway then the statement is little bit naff :>

Possibly? I saw that mentioned but used Liquid Pro anyway to see if it would make a difference and it certainly did :)

Not as far as i'm aware. If I had damaged something in the process then yes but simply removing thermal paste and applying new stuff is a pretty simple thing to do.

I bought mine without a hard drive so had to install one myself which to some could be seen as a more complex task than changing over thermal paste.
