I am having some system instability and I am trying to figure out what it is, Just installed my 3800+ a couple of days ago, and updated bios and crashes, got the is error once "Bad_pool_caller" rest of the time it just hangs with an odd sound, only seams to happen when playing eve online, 80% sure its not the ram as I tested it a month or so ago as one of the modules was faulty, shouldn’t be windows as I reinstalled. I installed the mobo monitor, cpu is about 32-40 and chipset is about 44-50, the chipset highlights red at around 50. Are these acceptable temperatures, if not, could this be the reason why I crash under load?

Any help/advice will be very much appreciated

CPU is fine temperature wise, chipset might be a touch hot but again nothing too drastic. Have you re-run memtest86 since installing your CPU and updating the bios? It may be some form of incompatibility still.

The temps are fine, I think you will have to look elsewhere for the cause of your instability.

You say you have tested the ram, but wasnt this before your CPU upgrade? Might be worth considering that again.

What ram and mobo do you have? And what cpu did you have previously to your upgrade?

mobo: DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLI-D
RAM: See sig
Current Processor: 3800+
Previouse: 3000+

I tested the ram a month or so ago (Upgraded Wednesday), as a ram stick was faulty and was RMA under warrenty.

Updated bios as windows didn’t pick up the cpu correctly.
