Just upgraded to a BFG 8800 GT from the BFG 7600 (rest of PC spec as per sig).
First thing I noticed is a lot more fan noise - some from the card and the PSU fan seems to be running faster, obviously as it is pumping out more watts (the BFG 7600 drew its power from the mobo, rather than the dedicated rail for the 8800).
So far as temperatures were concerned, after 80 mins of running Crysis at 1280 x 1024 medium to high detail, Ntune showed the 8800 at @75C while Speedfan had the 2 zonal temperatures at around @58C while the CPU cores were at around @60C.
Room temp @20C.
Does this seem about right or do I need to review my cooling arrangements?
