Just wondering about temperatures of Shuttles.

What should they be? Are they easy to cool? CPU cooling? GFX cooling? Surely space is an issue? Compared to cooling an ATX case, is it easier/harder and why?

It goes by what components your going to put in.....

My shuttle (in sig) is more like an oven inside then a PC case..

The temp are fine with mid range components,,But i myself find they run way to hot with the latest highend components in..

Hmm, i'm talking about C2D and 8800 mainly. So, not easy to keep cool? And you say your temperatures are 'fine'...what do you mean by that in terms of degrees C? :p

Right now with my system just at idle for last few hours the temps are

8800gtx 75c
CPU 25c
System 47c
150gb raptor 49c
maxtor 500gb 37c

This is with the shuttle case cover off...

That's baking. And somehow I think CPU temp is wrong, unless your room is freezing and you have CAQ enabled. Even with a Ninja in my Stacker I can't get it to 25 degrees.

LOL...My room was freezing went i took them temps...

As i was to lazy to get off my bottom and turn the fan heat on..

The temps are now
cpu 30c
system 53c

The p shuttle cpu coolers are very good as they use two fans on the heatsink in a push and pull setup...

This is why i hate shuttles...and why my upgrade next month will be a normal midi size PC case..

I never said my temps were fine...

I said the temps would be fine with mid range components....(ATI X1650 Series or nvidia 7900gt/gs video cards or something like this)

My 8800gtx is far to much for these small shuttle cases....
My last x1900xt-x was to much as well..(my x1900xt-x used to be at 97c went underload)

I'm in the process of sticking a Black Ice Stealth II Radiator on the side of my E6700 SD37P2 to try and keep the 1950XTX's below 80 Degrees.

I've been running my other SD37P2 with a 7600 GT and every drive bay used 24/7 for a week to increase my folding at home score and it's stayed cool and quiet. CPU at 50 Degrees etc.

Shuttle have their own CPU Cooler, it uses 2 fans in a push/pull setup. It's very efficient.

My internal temps were fine with 1 1950XTX as the cooler vented through the rear, I've just had to do a spot of modding to get 2 in..... I don't know whether 8800 coolers vent through the rear the same.
