hi all just curious as to what temperatures people are getting at stock with these cpus because atm im hitting around 37-40 degrees with my new set up (e2180/p5n-e sli/arctic freezer pro 7 all inside my akasa eclipse pro case ) on core temp call me paranoid but im not sure if i have splodged too much as5 on to my processor

also what temps are people getting at stock with the stock hsf that comes with it ??

thnx

i have 2 120mm fans one at the front of the case (intake) and one at the back (out take) i put a little more than shown on the diagram and also a few dots towards the opposite sides of the line

also just finished running prime 95 for an hour and both cores reached around 55 degrees on load so i was wondering what kind of temp increases i would expect when i begin trying to overclock (im going for 3ghz being as this will be my first serious oc attempt)

thnx

thnx ill see if putting the stock heatsink on with the pre aplied paste/pad on the bottom lowers my temperatures a little later to see what teperatures i get then .I have no more as5 atm so ill have to live with that for a few days until i can get hold of another tube

thnx

thnx every one i had a look first thing this morning i ran prime for an hour and the fan on my freezer pro seemed to still be blowing out cold air but i did notice that the edge of the heatsink was being pushed up by the cooler on the northbridge. So after taking of the heatsink (damm clips are a pain) i could clearly see that one side of the heatsink wasnt making contact, i cleaned the bottom of the heatsink and removed the as5 from it and spread the as5 on the cpu so it just covered the metal just like c64 said ,i reseated the heatsink so the fan was facing the northbridge (not ideal but the northbridge feels a little toasty so the extra cool air should help i guess) im now getting more sensible temps 30 degrees idle and 40 degrees on load after the greese has burned in a little if should drop a few more degrees i guess so once again thanks i can start to think about overclocking now with less of a chance of the computer smoking more than Vera Duckworth

ive placed on the stock heatsink for a while now (getting some more as5 tommorow ) and after an hour or two im idling at around 32-35 degrees im going to lap my ac7 because im no where near happy with the base of the heatsink, it looks like it hasnt been finished imo and being as i could only feel cool air coming out of it it could be the problem with my temps. Ill have a bash at doing the cpu aswell i think it cant hurt anything
