A new monitor coming out mid December~ from Cooler Master. Not many "professional" reviews out on it yet, but here's one from Techtesters.

Think this could be a very good monitor for those looking for a "good" 4k HDR experience. Of course, OLED or a monitor with >1k local dimming zones (ldz) is the best for experiencing HDR, so you will still have blooming and halo'ing. However 576 ldz is a lot higher than what the Sony Inzone M9 has (96), and that monitor is said to be the "bare minimum to entry level HDR" (Hardware Unboxed).

Interested know people think of this? I currently have an edge lit 4k monitor with HDR600 and 12 ldz, and was looking to get the new AW3424DWF (if it ever comes out). However that monitor is 1440p UW and warrants playing in a relatively dark room to really get those deep blacks. Whereas the GP27Q would still offer me a much better HDR experience than I have now, stay at 4k, KVM switch, and has connectivity options I want (and already have) e.g. type c port with 90w and data delivery to connect my macbook.

27inch deal breaker for me, 32inch version for 1099 would be a straight buy for me, were waiting for Acer PREDATOR X32 FP for almost a year, unfortunately never materialised to real product :S

shameless plug :) the TFTCentral review is coming soon as well, although if you're a site supporter (thank you!) you can get full early access to it now too :)

Did you specifically check for if response times/overshoot show similar refresh rate independent behaviour to GM27-FQS?

Sure would be time to put some smart into overdrive...

27inch is fine for me since I've never tried a 32inch monitor. But I do see a big preference for 32inch at 4k, shame they don't have that option.

Review from Monitor Unboxed out now!

Seems to be a great monitor at a fair price, just needs cooler master to fix firmware issues. Given the monitor is not released for another month here, the fix should be out with hopefully no side effects by then.

I've had mine for a few weeks. I'm very impressed so far - great for gaming and movies. It's also surprisingly capable for photo editing - the ARGB and SRGB modes let you change brightness and user colour so it calibrates very nicely

The only real niggle I have is input switching. Rather than defaulting to auto at power on, it stays on the last input you used. The menu doesn't always trigger, so it's a pain if you forget to switch it back to auto mode before you turn it off.

Do many people own this monitor? I don't see many people mention it

I've had mine from September last year and I can easily say it's been one, if not the best monitor I've owned. I mainly use my pc for evening gaming, and screen has excellent uniformity with no ghosting I can see even in dim light.

Quality wise, I love mine for gaming and photo editing. Colours are great, limited haloing with hdr content (about what you'd expect from IPS). My only complaint is it can be a bit temperamental changing inputs if USB C is involved.

Yeah I had the monitor when it was released and just sold it for a 32inch OLED monitor a couple of months ago.

Overall, it's a decent monitor if you can get it relatively cheap. There was quite a bit of teething issues in the beginning with firmware updates coming out that "broke" other pieces of functionality. What annoyed me the most was the startup time of the monitor when you have it connected to a laptop over USB-C, and the confusion it would get into when trying to switch between these inputs at times. HDR in the latest patch (think v3?) had some weird colour tinge for me and flickering in games, so I stuck with a previous firmware. The lack of communication from CoolerMaster for new firmware updates was also concerning as people still had weird issues with it, but if you don't encounter them, you'd be none the wiser.

Yeah I stuck with the previous firmware for exactly that reason. It's fairly well behaved if you're not changing inputs that often.

The biggest surprise for me was how much better controlled haloing was vs my 1152 zone Lenovo!
