getting root treatment on a tooth, got a temporary filling just now until i go back to get it sorted

have had to take holidays to get this done so want to not entirely waste the holidays by drinking lol

was told not to chew with it but is alcohol likely to make it crumble or something ?

I've had a temp filling in for over 3 weeks, if anything it's held up better than the proper filling that it replaced. I've not even noticed having it, drink away old bean!

I wouldn't chance it. Just stick to water & non-staining teas.

edit: That's on the assumption that you've only got to wait a day or something.

edit edit: surely a quick call to the surgery that did the filling will answer this better than we can?

Why did you not ask the Dentist? Or simply call them to check.

I think this counts as a medical advice thread and will be locked soon.

Yup call the surgery lol, or NHS direct might be able to tell you. If you're determined though.. ask them for a nasogastric tube and some syringes :D

Edit: and some lube. :o

I had a temp filling stuck in a couple weeks ago and it last a few days, came out when eating a haggis roll. Anyway went back a couple days later and got another temp filling, this one seems to be lasting better, I just dont brush hard on it. But I've been drinking and munching as normal :D

if you you have a drink in response to the OR then you screw something up, then the OCUK are responsible.

That's why threads like this shouldn't be posted.

Just give them a call, should still be open

No they're not, it states when you join all posts are the posters opinion and nothing to do with ocuk.

THis would b e like charging a pub for the advice given by drunks to each other within it's walls.

Who the hell would sue OcUK anyway?
