Temporary GPU needed

Decided to get a stop gap GPU before the new ones arrive and the AMD rx 5700xt seems best value.
Think I've narrowed down choice to the taichi, red devil and nitro... which of these would be the wise choice?
I don't think my 1070ti will cut 3440x1440, so selling it.

I have a GPU fund I've saved, earmarked 1500 for new cards (not that I plan to spend it all, but you never know) and have another 300 for an interim card plus whatever I get for my 1070ti.
The screen I've ordered is 144hz, so I want to be able to push at least 100fps with settings dropped, but seriously doubt my current card will be able to hit 3 digits on games like pube, anno, civ...

You are correct, the non xt would make more sense, but I just fancy the xt and one of the three premium models... whichever is quiet, cool and still performs.
Can't really find anything conclusive though, the taichi appears to be faster, but runs hotter and louder... but then has this quiet bios. Minefield...

Yeah I saw that thread and didn't see anything I'd consider a good price, which is disappointing, as I always choose to buy here first, but I can get either of the three cards mentioned for 'just' over £400.

Why dont you see how the 1070ti fares first before buying a temporary GPU. You might find the 1070ti suffices.

I'm going from 1080p 144hz to over double pixel count at the same refresh. I don't even think the radeon will handle it that well, but stands more chance of hitting triple digit frames with settings turned down.

Hypothetical numbers, but:
1070 Ti value at 3080 Ti launch: £150-£200
3080 Ti launch prixe: £1200
Total outlay: £1,000-£1,050

1070 Ti value value now: £250
5700 XT cost now: £450
Initial outlay: £200
5700 XT value at 3080 Ti launch: £250-£300
3080 Ti launch price: £1,200
Total outlay: £1,100-£1,150

Personally, I wouldn't do it, as the ~6 months of performance improvement wouldn't be worth it to me. Plus, the 1070 Ti numbers, above, aren't likely to be out by much. The 5700 XT's could be, depending on how big a performance jump the next generation is and how keenly the cards are priced.

Personally, I like the look of the Nitro+ (especially the SE version). Beyond aesthetics, I'm not sure there's much else to separate the three

Some good man maths right there, and pretty much my thinking, although I've valued my 1070ti less as it's a palit dual and out of warranty. Selling to my mate with aio for £175, which is probably a better deal for him than me!

I'm kinda expecting new cards October for the non reference versions, but I can't wait that long.
Anyone any idea what the deal is with b grade cards? Manufacturer warranty still valid?

I did look at b grade, but they are all way too close to full price to risk a 90 day warranty. The gigabyte 2080ti was under a grand and had a tiny price drop, but I wouldn't pay over £500 for it, prices should really be at least half as all the risk falls on the purchaser... so bought a new 2070s instead.

Yeah it looks that way lol, I have ordered the new AOC 34" 144hz ultrawide though and I've tried gaming at under 100fps and I just can't do it. Honest truth, if it wasn't for covid and being forced to work from home permanently I'd not have bought a new monitor and subsequent GPU. I was planning to totally skip this generation, as I've basically paid 500 for 2016 1080ti performance... which isn't ideal.
