Temporary Graphics card poser

Well, after some O/C misadventure, I find myself in need of a graphics card. I dont want to buy a top end card atm so I'm looking for something mid-rangish for a temporary measure. I have seen two cards on OcUK for £70ish
x1950pro and hd2600xt.
Which is better purely in terms of performance, not interested in any extras, just how well it runs (or not)

x1950pro - runs like a dream on directx 9 games, beats the 2600.

The 2600 has hd decoding and directx 10 support for vista but doubt it will run any directx 10 games at hugh res.

Thanks dude, im tempted to o with the x1950, but since i will pass this along to my nipper, if the 2600 is about as good in dx9 i might go with that.....

It is my understanding that the 2600 is considerably slower than the x1950pro in dx9 games. Check those benched in this review: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3023&p=6
