Hey there

I just sold the RAM for my i7 setup last night in order to upgrade to 6gb.....however I forgot that it is good friday and bank holiday monday, so if I buy RAM from ocuk it wont arrive until tuesday. The problem is I need my computer for work for the weekend and need some temporary RAM for it, even if it's only 1gb.

Will 1066mhz DDR2 RAM work on an x58 mobo? Or perhaps one stick of 1066mhz DDR3? - will it only boot with 3gb minimum? Im just look for the most cost effective way to do this, any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

remember it has to be below 1.65v to work with x58 because of the memory controller being on die.

StevenG - any old ram wont work!
