Is there a way to temporarily disable the 2nd monitor without resorting to the control panel everytime? Playing C&C Generals the mouse moves onto the 2nd display when you try to scroll right which is annoyimg. So looking for a way of just disabling this monitor for when playing this game, either by a 3rd party prog or maybe an nvidia profile, although can't see any setting which would do this per game. 6800 ultra with latest drievsr.

Download a program called UltraMon. It sits in your taskbar and let's you do handy little things like have different backgrounds per monitor. More to the point, you can right-click the taskbar icon and disable the secondary monitor in an instant.

yea

get Ultramon, once installed right click on the Generals Icon and select Properties - should be a new tab called Custom or something, which enables you to shut down 2nd monitor and change primary monitor res' etc.. etc..

:)

Ninja Davey there just beat meh! tho my answer is better i rekon!

His is better because it does it all automatically after you've set it up once, you don't have to mess about clicking things with the mouse each time you wanna play :)

How can your answer be better, mine is spot on :p Right click taskbar icon, click on "Disable Secondary" from the pop-up menu. Job's a good 'un :p

^^ what he said :D

He's right Davey, mcdaniel's post is by far the better way. Say I play the start the game 3 times a day, at an average of 0.7 seconds per click on the taskbar, multiplied by an estimate of 2 weeks to finish the game, that's an extra 29.4 extra seconds of gaming time. Double that if I click on the taskbar again to reenable the 2nd monitor. Not to mention the saving on wear and tear on the right mouse button. The overrinding factor though is my inherant laziness, so one click less is automatically better regardless.
