Hi Guys,
Didn't know which forum to stick this in as not sure if it's a OC question or watercool question :)

Recently upgraded my rig to a 4770k, Z87X-OC, Teamgroup LV 8GB.

I'm running the following watercool setup: XSPC Raystorm CPU Block, EX360 Rad, Dualbay pump/res, XSPC Raystorm GPU block for a 770gtx

I've tinkered with an overclock however temps are seriously holding me back, it wasn't something I was expecting as my system was watercooled. Anyway, here are the numbers:

Stock:
Bios Temp: 34 C
Idle Temp: 31 C
IBT Temp: 81 C
System Temp: 36 C

Overlocked @ 4.5Ghz:
Bios Temp: 40 C
Idle Temp: 35-40 C
IBT Temps: 97 C
System Temp: 36 C
VCore: 1.280V

I've tried reseating my CPU block, re applied paste but still runs the same, is this normal? Serously considering buying the EK "naked Ivy" kit and delidding (scared me a bit though).

Any advice would be welcome on this as I kinda wished I had saved a bit more and got IVY-E or waited out for next gen!

Mine is the same, albeit im on air cooling. Idles at 30c, load temp in games of 65c. When oc'd to 4.5ghz, (1.2625v in bios). I darent run any stress tests such as p95 as it hits the mid 90's in seconds. Ive tried reseating the cooler 3 times, and using liquid ultra paste below the cooler. Seems like weve both been a bit unlucky as far as having very hot running chips.

Not much you can do IB/HW are seriously gimped by thermal paste between the TIM when it comes to overclocking. As far as Intel is concerned the stock temps are fine.

Glad I'm not the only one then ;)
I know I can hit 4.7Ghz @ 1.4v but the temps are really holding me back. Not sure if it's worth the cost of getting the EK block and naked ivy kit!

Don't forget your cooling the GPU as well, the only way to get better temps is de-lid and use better TIM, add another rad or both.

I've delided my haswell with ivy kit + ek supremacy. 4.5Ghz @1.275 vCore an max temps of 54C running Prime95 AND AIDA64 stress test at the same time.
