Hello everybody!

So I'm getting a bit paranoid probably, but after reading loads of forums I couldn't sate my thirst for approval ;)

So I'm running a custom loop of 2x 980 and an i7 devil's canyon. CPU is at stock, don't really need more from it, Cards run at 1500Hz clock and +250Hz on memory (so 500 on final clock).

Cooling wise I have 2x240 rads with the bog standard Corsair SP fans (there is also a pair of 140mm fans pushing the air into the case for a slightly out of whack push/pull on the front of the case since I could fit them :P).

Playing something that would require the cards to swat a little (I game in 1440) I get the cards to 56-57 degrees when fans are on idle (when I forget to ramp them up), turning the fans to ~50% I get back to about 49-51 degrees, water sits on 38-39 at the very most (measured after the 2nd Gpu so at the "hot" point).

Now I know I could use extra 120 rad space, but I did not build the system with enough foresight so.. .yea...

Now tell me if I am being paranoid, or are those higher temps (with gpu's in high 50's) in any way harmful to the system as a whole (pump mainly) or am I good running the fans at idle and all I sacrifice is a few degrees on GPU's with no real draw backs other than my ego ;)

THANKS!

I wouldnt worry about 40 degrees water temp, when you dont have much rad space your water temp will go up and down a bit. I would set up your fans so they ramp up according to your GPU temps though through speedfan. I always used to forget to turn my fans up when i had a manual fan controller, moving to speedfan made things much easier.

Well I only have a very simple fan controller with control over 3 pairs of fans separately and basically adjust as needed, sometimes when gaming late at night I just ramp them down and open the window, otherwise my wife nags :P where would I plug them? mobo case fans? I'm using fan splitters to have 2 fans with 1 cable, would a mobo plug be powerful enough?
