temps on a 6700k ?

im running a 6700k on stock settings which gets me 4.0 ghz at 1.25v and its hitting 70 on load ??

i just tried to clock it to 4.6ghz and 1.35v and was hitting 100

i have a gt110i corsair cooler

What case do you have ? Airflow. Are the fans on the cooler running at full speed under load ?

and what thermal paste are you using? You probably need to reseat the cooler.
Mine clocked to 4.8Ghz core, 4.6Ghz cache with 1.34v temp was around 73 during cinebench. Cooler is Megahalems with an EK vardar 2200rpm and Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut.

its a 750d with no front so plenty of airflow and i have quite and aggressive fan profile after 50 degrees and 100 at 70

Sounds like something isn't working, potentially the pump. Or the CPU seating is poor, bad paste contact or just bad paste.

ill try reseating it over the weekend is it worth lapping ?

I wouldn't lap it as it should be working fine as is. Either paste (what are you using?) or your cooler is faulty would be a likely bet.

Lapping the cpu means the warranty will be gone so I suggest to not lap it.
