First time posting! :)

Just got this awesome beast from Overclockers
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-175-OE&groupid=43&catid=2040&subcat=

The case I was given with this machine is actually the Bitfenix shinobi

Added 8gb ram to get 16gb total
Added crossfire upgrade but only one card in at the moment
Added OCZ Agility 3 SSD 120gb

I got a screenshot of the temps I am seeing and was wondering if this was ok for just general use, I had firefox, skype, msn, outlook and a stream running at the time. Also if anyone could tell me some temps normal temps on a system like this that would be great :)

The Overclock has come off it but thats not a major thing for me, will look at how to overclock it again later - could adjust the fan speeds help? I have just left them as default for the moment but if anyone can suggest a recommend % that would be great

Was thinking of adding a fan as it seems to only have the liquidcooling and two other fans inside from what I can see.

Those idle temps look ok, if you could download and run prime 95 that will give you cpu load temps and something like furmark will give you gpu load temps.
Your gpu temps will be high as using crossfire will make things very hot, if possible add another fan at the side to feed them cool air :)
also welcome to the forums :)

Would be great if anyone could offer some advice on what fans to put in. I am really clueless on what to get for it, Its a Bitfenix shinobi case, I got told it has bad airflow but no idea what to do to solve it.

I would presume by those temps and the fitted cooler (h2flo) that speedstep is disabled, so yeah those temps look fine. As for fans here are your options for location:

- Front Cooling: 2 x 120mm Fans (optional) 1 x 120mm Fan (included)
- Rear Cooling: 1 x 120mm Fan (included) or 1 x 92mm Fan (optional)
- Top Cooling: 2 x 140mm Fans (optional) or 2 x 120mm Fans (optional)
- Bottom Cooling: 1 x 120mm Fan (optional)

Though from the pictures there is a spot on the side for a 120mm fan too. Your setup should be something like this:

Front: Either 1 or 2 120mm fans set as intake
Rear: A single 120mm exhaust (This may be set to intake as the h2flo will be mounted here)
Top: A pair of low-rpm high flow 140mm fans
Side: Single 120mm intake for your GPU's

Depending how much noise you can tolerate depends which fans would best suit you.

Thanks a lot pgi947.

By the looks of it the rear is taken up by the liquidcooler that is fitted to the CPU.
Top - If you can recommend some fans to look at that would be great, I know I am asking a lot but I want it to work well and be cool. Noise I am not majorly concerned about, I still want to hear my games and myself think but some noise is not going to annoy me haha.

Will check to see if I can fit a side fan tonight, its not got any side window or anything so I was not sure.

so I will be looking for one side and two top fans at the moment and then look at the front later as I think one is there at the moment but I have not looked yet.

Really REALLY appreciate the help :)

The spec for the case states that it comes as stock with a single 120mm intake on the front, there should also be room on that h2flo rad to add a 2nd 120mm fan for a push/pull config, this should lower temps further.

For the 120mm fans the Scythe Gentle Typhoons seem to be the best option for a balance of airflow/noise.

The 1450rpm GT's: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-014-SY&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4
around 50cfm for around 20dba noise.
Though the 1850rpm fans are on offer just now: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-030-SY&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4
Offering 58cfm at around 28dba.

My self I have just today purchased 2 akasa vipers for my rad and to xigmatek white crystal for case fans (one side intake one top exhaust). Though at high speeds the vipers can be quite noisy.

My only experience with 140mm was a pair of Antec truequiet 140 fans, they were about 33cfm at about 16dba (800rpm), which were fine (while I could fit them) for exhausting.

Would you recommend getting the Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm two for top, one for front?

Ill start with that and then, as I have already spent a lot haha, I will get another for on top of the cooler but I am not sure how/how easy that will be to fit.

Super awesome for the help :)

I can't recommend them on personal experience, but I can based on the fact they nearly always get a mention when a 'which fan' thread :)

If your only getting 3 fans, for now I would recommend 2 top 1 side (as long as there is space) and then make your next move setting your rad up for push/pull.

haha, just because we are talking now the rad is the radiator and push/pull is the fan that will go on top of it? xD Pure gaming, 0 tech here.

Thanks again.

Rad is the radiatior, and push pull means you have one fan at each side of the radiator, one will be pulling air, the other will be pushing air, so the airflow direction of both fans is the same, but will significantly increase the air drawn over the rad.

Again the Gentle Typhoons are a popular choice for rad push/pull setups. If you want a higher flow (as I did) then Vipers, or for lower noise Akasa Apache.

for push pull you want high static pressure something like these Yate loons they will be great at forcing air through that rad and they are favoured by a lot of watercoolers, check out some of that watercooling projects here and you will see that a fair few use yate loons. They would also do fine as being front intakes or whatever , plus you get three for the price of a gentle typhoon :D
They also get a name for being very very quiet, here is a like to a review of them as well

Ok, I am ready to order - Thanks for even more advice here.

So should I go ahead and buy 4 of these? 2 for the top, 1 front and 1 to put on the CPU radiator.

Also I heard about setting it to intake, this is going to need explaining to me if possible :) Thanks again.
