I currently run a Gigabyte X570S Aorus Master which has 2 temperature sensor points one of which I plug in the temp sensor from my res/pump combo of my custom loop.

This board allows me to set the temp sensor as the source temperature when configuring fan curves, so I don't have to run any nonsense software to set a proper curve and it is all in the BIOS with the water temp as the source for all fans.

I am researching possible motherboards with a view to going for a 9800X3D soon, but I am struggling to find good information on whether you can set the temp sensor as a source on either MSI or ASRock boards. ASRock manuals only state two sources, CPU and System (I think) and the MSI manuals do not specify what sources are available.

Does anyone have personal experience of using a custom loop with MSI or ASRock and using the water temperature as the source temp for fan curves? BIOS only I am not interested in 3rd party controllers or software in the OS.

Cheers.

Edit: P.S. I don't buy Asus so no need to mention them
