Hi, recently purchased a 2nd hand 760 on ebay, have installed and started OC'ing clocked to speeds as seen in image, however, is this too hot for them to be runnning for this speed? I have a Corsair H50 cooler.

Idle seems to be running high 30C's-low 40C's.

Im looking to hit a 4Ghz OC, but dunno if i shud push it anymore?
The speeds below were recorded whilst running IntelBurnTest 2.5

Temps when playing BF3 Beta were high 60C's.......and 4th core at 71C

Going by your coretemp readings your 760 is hitting mid to high 80's. That is way too much for my liking. Does it really need that much voltage for only 3.85Ghz as well? Mine does 4Ghz with only 1.272v and 4.2Ghz needs 1.35v.

In the bios I set the voltage to 1.29, but CPUZ says that voltage. I will try to lower the voltage 2moz. After I'll report bk on here.

ok so i lowered the volts to 1.280 and pc blue screened after the 1pass on intel burn test, bumped the volts up to 1.296 as seen in the image and the temps went above 80C again, so i stop the test after the 2nd pass.

Is my chip just running really hot? My cooler did a fine job with my i3 at 4.58ghz, so i feel a little stump.

any advice?

ok, tried reseating, not made much difference at all. Tried a real world example of the processing that is likely to be used, so I played BFBC2(a fairly cpu intensive game if im correct) for about an hour. The max temps im seeing for cores are core1 76c, core2 77c, core3 76c and core 4 80c. Are those temps acceptable? I may try reseating again.

Would I be better off looking at getting a better cpu cooler? tbh im looking to upgrade when IB comes along, this was just a cheap upgrade to quad for BF3.

EDIT: Which cooler would you recommend?
