Hey,

Just a quickie really.

I've recently started using my cpu for encoding. Some of the core temperatures have been as high 80 - 90C. Is that too high for my cpu?

Ta.

ohh god no wonder:eek:

yh seems right for stock cooler, get aftermarket one, anything will be better than that

It could probably do with a clean too, which should reduce the temps around 5 - 10C. As long as those temps aren't too serious, then I'll pick an aftermarket cooler when I get around to it. Cheers. :)

I would suggest to clear the cooler and replace the thermal paste. It helps. Can't expect more from a stock cooler tho.

Does seem a little bit high, but not worryingly so. To be honest I wouldn't have expected those kinds of temps from even the stock cooler though... Maybe try reseating it and applying new thermal paste.

The funny thing is that the temps and other readings when in normal usage are very good.
