Erm, at a computer.
I have recently built my machine, Q6600 Go and have clocked it up to 2.7 Ghz, howvever i am having aggro checking my temps.

I have downloaded coretemp but as sopon as try to run it my computer restarts. I have since downloaded Everest Ultimate. This app is showing my temps as 46 40 49 44, which i feel is high for a Go "2.7 with a tuniq tower. However when i check the bios it is showing cpu temp as 29/31, which is the most accurate?

Those temps would be abnormally high given the cooling you have, presuming the temps are idle. If the temps are load, then those readings would be more sensible.

Try Speedfan (remember to +15*C to the values shown in core temp for G0 stepping) or another program that will read the core temperatures to confirm that Everest is reading them correctly, before you consider re-seating or trying to bring temps down.

Have downloaded speedfan which is showing core0 core1 core2 and core3 sll between 30 - 32. However the temp for core is 70.

I played colin mcrae dirt for 5 mins and temps went upto 36 and "core" to 80.

Have you added +15*C to the temps in speedfan? As it seems strange having such a difference between your Speedfan and Everest temps. If not, then I would say your temperatures are high.

Also im not sure which temperature your reading as "core", these are the ones I have displayed in speedfan:

All I have is core0, core1, core2, core3
