temps?

Hi,
I am quite confused at the moment, When at 100% load my cpu goes from 30c to 50c+ in a matter of minutes and then shuts down. Is there any way to prevent this?

specs:

cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro

cpu : AMD Athlon II X3 Tri Core 450 3.20GHz

do you have the cpu overclocked? sounds like the system is unstable

Pop into the BIOS and have a look at the thermal settings for the cpu, it may be set to shutdown at a certain temperature.

No its at stock settings.


@RJC, only thermal throttle is on in the bios ( because of the shutdowns, I dident want any more interuptions in my work.)

Try removing and refitting the cooler. Make sure you use the right amount of paste, somewhere between a rice grain and a pea. Clean off the old stuff first. It sounds like the cooler isn't making proper contact with the CPU at the moment.

It crashed during the test and now its gone back to how it was the other day

Ah. Didn't realise you had already had other problems with it.

O.k turns out my psu wasent up to the task of supporting my pc, so I have reverted to the stock cooler and all is well

Good grief! If your PSU can't run a Freezer 7 you need a new PSU!
