Anyone have a 4570k in a ft03 mini, my 4.5GHz unfortunately reaches the 90c+ are under load, any opinions? would that be normal?

Is a H80i cooling it. Mounting is fine, i will go lower at this point and see what happens.

Not unless HWmonitor is unreliable.

That does not sound right, HW Monitor tends to be fairly good, you always cross check with Core or Real temp.

Are you sure the pump is running at speed, also you say its mounted properly is it possible to double check.

Unfortunately it may be a case of getting a chip with very badly applied paste below the ihs. My own in sig hits 94c in seconds under p95. Cooled by a big k2 dual tower heatsink and 2x 1900 rpm fans. Same temps despite several remounts of the cooler with liquid ultra paste.

I'm using linx bench. On defaults, it hits the 70's. Even 4.2GHz hits 92c, I may well send it back, what's the point of a K model if you cannot OC.

I daren't even run LinX as its much hotter than prime. And I've also recently had to up voltage a touch. In games it hits 67c max. Intel really cheaper out by using paste instead of solder on theese. My previous ib 3770k wasn't as bad as this despite higher voltage at 4.5, 1.34v. 1.267v on the 4770k. 81c max on the ib.

I was always told it was the other way round.

Personally i just don't use stress programs anymore. In considering delidding this chip to see if i can clock it higher. What are temps like in games or other normal tasks also what vcore at 4.5?

1.25v

Haven't tried any games yet, only recieved it this morning. Should i use msi afterburner for in game temps?

Also i tried Aida 64 and temps were in the 70's, WTF.

For ingame temps i just leave coretemp running in the background. Not sure on aida64 as ive never used it.

You can use afterburner to show cpu use/temps on screen. But i have coretemp set to display on the lcd screen on my Logitech g15 keyboard. But just leave it running and it will display max temps during gameplay.

Check that your voltage is actually 1.25v in Windows too when you are stressing (Using hwmonitor). Some mobos kick up the Haswell voltage if it's set to adaptive and you use a stress with AVX/AVX2 extensions, like Prime95 or Linx.. so your 1.25v might be 1.35!

Other than that, it's a bad mount on the cooler or the cooler is faulty. What kind of temps do you get when doing normal modern gaming?

Thanks for telling me, HWmonitor is showing Vcore 1.7v and VID as 1.2v, what do i do?
OK, i have been told that the VID is what the cpu ships with, but still seems high.

Unless hwmonitor is displaying initial input voltage. 1.199 sounds right going by cpuz.

I will settle with what i have, but is still strange why LinX goes complete nuts with temps and P95 does not. And the people who built it say they were reading 77c average at 4.4 using P95.

Can you recommend a 140mm fan for my rad, i have the 140mm penertrator fan.

Personally id just up it to 4.5 and use it as normal. Don't bother with synthetic stress tests, use it for your normal tasks as temps wont be as high. The corsair fans are meant to be good for rads.
