Has anyone got one of these yet? It seems to be one of the first Centrino2 based mobile laptops out there - is it too early to jump on the bandwagon?

Any people have one yet? I've read a review of the smaller Q210 and it would appear that the Q310 is everything I want and well priced too.

How does the screen compare to the LED backlit one on the M1330? I bought my gf an M1330 a couple of months ago, and I love the screen.

I am also tempted by this laptop, I would like to get it from Overclockers but why are they always overpriced??

a quick search you can easily get it at £670 inc vat and free delivery (compared to £714 + £9 del) and thats just looking at one online store, sure theres even cheaper about if I look harder.

Any ideas why overclockers inflate their prices so much??

I was looking at the Q210 for a friend, on paper it looks really good but seeing it in the flesh put me off, the shiny black surface with the red tint is just too much and makes it look and feel quite cheap.

I ended up buying 2 Q45's, one for me and one for her (I wasn't even looking for myself at the time). It's finish is much nicer in mat textured black on the inside. Also you can find them for £499 online with pretty decent spec as well.

t5550 1.83ghz
3gb ram
320gb hd
12" screen that's really nice to use
great touchpad
and about 5 hrs battery life for normal office/internet use

The good thing with the Q310 though is that the keyboard has a much better layout more similar to a std keyboard, the Q210 moves the \ key to the right side.

The Q45's spec above is plenty powerful enough for me, I'm using it as a programming machine on the go so it runs SQL, Visual Studio etc totally fine. Graphics are pretty weak so you can only play older 3d games like Q3 mind.

I was also looking at the dell 1330 but after reading all the horror stories and talking to friends that have owned dells it put me right off. They just seem to use much cheaper parts or something.

Can you tell me what the webcam is like on the Q45, specifically with skype, how if the quality when the person viewing your video on the other side (you can't tell by looking at your own video window) and also in indoor lighting conditions. I had a Asus which I returned because the webcam was un-usable because it was so blocky when the other person was viewing it.
The webcam hold was a size of a pinhead not letting any light in.

Thanks

I've not used the webcam but I've read that it might not be the best.

I found this thread really useful for info on it.

Managed to see the R510 (Samsung) in a shop today, whilst it's not the same machine it does use the same case - and although I liked it in pictures, in the flesh it's not really that pretty.
