Hey there, how are the 24" iMacs with the normal 7300GT's in for the casual game of CSS or so? I'm selling my gaming rig as I really dont game as much as I used to, only really have the odd 30 - 40 mins of CSS every now and then.

If not on the iMac, which Mac would be better for the occasional game?

I don't think that Counterstrike is available on Mac at the moment. For everything else though, the iMac is a great option for the casual gamer.

Alright, thanks. The iMac just looks so darn sexy. I'm guessing i'm able to run CSS in BootCamp or something? Or am I misunderstanding how it works? This'll be my first adventure into the world of Apple Mac, so excuse my naievity on the subject :)

Youll defo run CS:S properly on an iMac wit a 7300 GPU.

My old Ati 9600 runs it easily at 1024x786.

And yes, you can run it via BootCamp :)

It is always recommended to get the best graphics card you can if the intention is playing games. For everything else though it won't make any difference at all.

The 24" iMac is BEAUTIFUL, amazing machine and I'm thoroughly chuffed with mine. Although at the moment it doesnt get a huge amount of use (lack of work atm), it has to be one of the best computer related purchases ever.

Mmmmm, front row - 24" goodness.

Agreed, mine makes me smile at it's beauty everytime I sit down and use it. Get a 2 footer, there is no way you will regret it, they are superb.

My girlfriend just recently got a 17" iMac with only the ATi X1600 in it and that runs call of duty 2 (mac version) miles better than my Powermac with a lowly 9600XT. I can put the texture settings to extra and still get smooth game play. I think I might have to get a 24" iMac when my powermac needs replacing. iMacs are excellent for general computer use (email, internet etc etc) and from my experience ideal for casual gamers.

Why not upgrade the graphics card to the 7600GT its only an extra £80 when ordering??
