A local shop which sells games near me has some 360 offers on at the mo. Premium plus Halo3 and PGR4 for £199.99 and Elite with same games for £259.99 I think it was. I'm leaning towards the premium cos at that price I can just about overcome my predujices regarding failure rates and the consequent hassle. Not knowing much about 360's I gather the premium has a smaller hard drive and no hdmi. Assuming the 360 will be used for playing games only and not for storing films/music etc, do people manage with a 20gig drive? Also is hdmi significantly superior to component/vga when hooked up to a HDTV?

That premium deal is really great. Paid a lot more only just a month ago, and that didn't even come with Halo 3...

You got ripped!! I paid £225 just before christmas and that included, halo 3, wireless controller, forza2 and viva pinata!! Although that was including 10% off. Fortunately I don't feel too ripped off hehe :)

Make sure you check you are getting the 175w PSU version as this means it has the newer falcon chipset.

To the OP thats a really good deal. The premium comes with a big enough hard drive and should come with hdmi.

PGR4 is also an excellent game.

Thanks for the replies, think I might go for it. Regarding the falcon chipset, is there any other way of ensuring it is one of those? I'm predicting if I ask them in the shop about the wattage of the power supply I may get blank looks.

It say's 175W on the box. Google will help. There is a deal on at the moment that is: Xbox 360 Premium, Lost Oddessy, Halo 3 & Assassins Creed for £210.

if you look around you can find a premium with halo3, pgr4 and lost oddessy i think it was for same price

I wouldn't say so. You can get some great deals on Xbox360 Pro models, so I'd stick to those over the Elite personally, but I care more about the machine and how it plays to what colour it is.

Just make sure it says 175W on the side of the box, near where it tells you the serial number :).

I'm currently using my original PSU with my new 360, there's no issue with that is there?

Nope no issues with that :) If you were using the 175w psu with the old xbox you may have had a problem :).

The best deal I have seen was for 210 quid a 360 premium with halo 3, assassins creed and lost odyssey!

Now that's value.

To confirm the HDMI thing yeah I bought the 360 Premium Tuesday and it has a HDMI port but I was shocked to see no more silver trim around the harddrive. :D
