Right now i wanna know the running costs of an E90 M5, want something with a pair of clackers.
I do about 15k miles per year, about 5k of those are town driving.
Having it fully loaded it came up around 78k to buy new
How many years finance do you reckon, i got about 2.5k a month spare right now.
Petrol costs are a worry too, it delivers near half the mpg my current car delivers what do you reckon given the mileage?
Are these reliable engines, what services costs we looking at?

I own my E90 330d outright, 9k miles on the clock, aint neccasarily a bad car, just i wish i had something which could deliver more. Could sell that, see what it'd fetch.

What you guys reckon?

Maybe look into chipping your 330d? You should get 40+ BHP increase (superchips claim 49 BHP / 78 NM).

Can you point me in the direction of the E90 M5, never heard of one myself?

E92 M3
E60 M5

If you have £2.5K per month to spend on a car I am not sure why you are worried in the slightest about how much it does to the gallon either, especially based on 15k miles a year.

Finance & E60 M5 are not two things I'd want to mix, if you need finance, with the greatest of respect, can you afford an e60 M5 & its running costs?

for 2.5k a month you could finance an F430 fuel it and pay for the insurance I would imagine

Because its better to have finance than splash out all that cash upfront? Buying an M5 is hardly like buying a fiesta from Johns amazing used car showroom.

Most high value cars will be financed. It makes better sense. The guy has 2.5k spare disposible income too.

While I know nothing about your financial state I have to agree with the above.

What about a chiped 335 (or 335d)?

Why not wait and try the new M3?

That looks stunning. In fact I've been in the 335i 3 series and **** me it's fast. Why the hell would anyone want the M3 in the first place?

Seriously.. wtf are you both on?
High on derv fumes? :D

Don't forget the big BM diesels produce more torque than the e39 M5.

In the real world, not so mad after all. ;)

What else would you do when your not driving the car? :p

chipped 335d has some serious power. 350bhp and 700nm torque (more than spie's 911 turbo).

I seriously doubt it would beat a 911 Turbo. There are videos on the net of a 911 Turbo vs a tuned M6 and the Turbo still ****** all over it.

I don't think BHP or 0-60 times do the 911 Turbo justice. It is faster than God. You can be pulling at 140mph and you will still feel the power of acceleration.

The M5 makes more power though which is far more an indicator of performance
