I currently run 3 screens on my 5870, I do not run eyefinity.

I game on my central monitor only but I love multiple screens for multitasking and could not be without my extra screens.

Can the GTX 480 output on both DVI ports and its mini HDMI at the same time or would I need a separate gpu to run my third screen?

anyone else tried running multiple screens on there Nvidia fermi card ?

i do not want SLi

if i have to go dual card i would get something like a geforce 210 to run the second screen.

I was hoping it would not be needed.

Think ATi have me

u dont need SLI to run 3 monitors. any other card will do to output to the 3rd monitor.

u only need to run SLI if you want to use 3 monitors in gaming, which u said you dont want to.

for normal desktop stuff, using 2 random cards is usually fine.
its how u used to do it in the old days before the cards let you run 2 monitors off them

i Know but i run a micro atx rig so my second pcie slot is taken up by my soundcard at present.

i was hoping i could run 3 screens off one card given i dont want to game on three.

Obviously not.
