Ok i'm very happy with my LG 32LX2R, especially with Xbox 360 and HDTV sources from the PC.

I've also owned a Denon 1920 for a couple of weeks which has very nice picture quality. However it also has a very slight issue with lip sync (on the LG anyway) that can be a touch annoying.

I've now got TheaterTek running on my PC, along with FFDShow, and DVDs now look just as good as the Denon (to my eyes anyway). And no lip sync issues! So i'm tempted to sell the 1920 now and just use the PC + Xbox360 for the time being.

The £200 odd I could get for the Denon could sure help cover the cost of silencing my PC! :D

I don't see how people get lip sync issues unless they are watching dodgy movies. There is a £30 player upstairs that has no problems, I have a £100 Cambridge Audio player and 360 downstairs with no problems. How do you get lip sync problems?

It's a known fact that the Denon 1920 has lip sync issues over HDMI with some TVs, including the LG 32LX2R. Using scart it's perfect.

It should look better than the denon, keep tweaking till it does.

My settings with FFD Show are currently:

Lanczos Scaling
Resize to 1360x768
Output to YV12 only (RAW video)

Anything else I can do to up the quality?

Lanczos should be set to parameter 2, as for other stuff it's down to individual displays, the 'right side only' command that you'll find listed on the different options is handy for seeing what makes a difference, the nvidia decoders already do a lot of the good work though so you're only talking about small improvements that would be noticed on a large screen.

So that's what that right side only thing is! Man that is a handy feature!
I'll give it another try tonight, ta :D

atm i just use windows MP to play DVDs from my 9800pro to my 19" LCd monitor, is it worth me getting this theatre tek to watch DVD's on at a better quality?

I'm not sure how much difference you'll notice on a 19" monitor, but TheaterTek + FFDShow is a very nice combination!

FFDShow is free, and you can get a free trial of Theatertek, and after that it's quite reasonable to buy ($69.95). Bargain tastic :D

Right, im useing theatre tec and its quite a nice player, but i cant find any of these settings you guys is talking about in it in the configuration menu when you right click

That's because you need to install FFS Show as well!

Anyone have a link to the latest version?
